This weeks joke

Used to know a chap who always went by the name Gethin ..... ( he was Welsh ) ......... later discovered his full name was John Gethin Thomas .......

No surprise he preferred to use Gethin , instead of the more usual " John Thomas " .............

Maybe I ought to point out that " John Thomas " is also known as The Old Man / Littlehampton / Percy / My Special Purpose / Wee Willie Winkie .....

( Just in case some overseas readers aren`t quite sure ........ ) ...........

Or Dick, Percy.

Relevant to the post above, I've always found the 5 Laws of Human Stupidity rather amusing.

Law 1: Everyone always and inevitably underestimates the number of stupid people in circulation
Law 2: The probability that a person is stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.
Law 3. A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or group of people when he or she does not benefit and may even suffer losses.
Law 4: Non-stupid people always underestimate the destructive power of stupid individuals.
Law 5: A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person.

I would add a 6th law that stupid people don't necessarily know they're stupid. Some even think they're smarter than everyone else despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Donald Trump comes to mind.

The above laws may seem like a joke, but they were first published in 1976 in a serious academic essay by Italian Professor Carlo Cippola.
