Old enough and experienced enough to remember that "I have made that same mistake before"  just after I did it again

All of this is pre covid-china virus. Most prices on collector cars and motorcycles are declining over the past few weeks as folks go from expensive toys to pure bankable cash.

I can categorically disagree with this statement from first hand experience,
The classic car market for good cars and bikes with good history and provenance is as strong as ever, if not better than for the last 18 months.  Certainly since Corona the whole industry has had a very large increase in internet inquiries (from checked and legit customers) and a smaller but significant increase in sales.
Amazingly even buyers buying with video walk-rounds and happy to trust reputations of dealers.
A nice feeling to be trusted like that and it makes me feel very honored!

A lot of people behind their computers, and remember that some people in this world have worked their butts off and / or are lucky enough to be able to buy the toys they want.
At the end of the day, thats exactly what these bikes and cars are.  Toys!  sometimes good investments but you need to be either lucky or very sharp to make that one pay every time.  Or have the money to be able to "buy now"  the moment you see, or are reliably informed an opportunity.    Still a hobby and its called "Gambling"    some people win but a lot loose!  And for a lot, just the playing is fun and then there is no loose or win, if you enjoy it and you can afford it, you win!

Strange business, but don't relate it to our own money worries, not everyone has them.
