A Tale of Two Titties

..... to the melody of Dr Feelgood version for "Nadine"..... "Oh Nadia is that You? Every time i see you darlin'... your hanging onto something new.... " you cannot better some lyrics, not possible.... Wilko on guitar just makes it all so easy, or is it so easy....the obvious never so obvious....j
As I get on a Jota and find a vacant spot
I thought I saw my future bloke walking up the street I shouted to the other riders "Hey guys, you must slow down,
I think I see him, please let me off this bike!"

Oh you romantic iis_iis hahaha 🙏

Personally I think I prefer the Chuck Berry version! i find it more interesting musically

Indeed, trimoto, the Chuck original is very good, clever and more. Context is crucial however, most blokes do not dance ( broad statement, no shouting me down ), when i fling a gal around the dance floor i want drive, snare drum does the trick, the Dr Feelgood version has bass and snare drive, bliss, the gals get a good hooting on the dance floor from me.... j

Oh way tooooo good Nadia, i like your response and even better the lyrical adjustment, never would have thought of that myself, minds eye boggles, wild gal with Jota, you would have to divert male attention from fishing boat and motor gal for the wild one Jota possesed ... then again, down to my last three Jota's..... another one would be attractive, with gal.... a wide eyed grin here. j.

I recently re purchased this on Ebay, It struck me that this was in fact the first ever motorcycle magazine I ever brought! 12 years old and on my way home from school, purchased from Fairfax shops West Heath Birmingham UK. I cant say I brought it for the pair of Laverda's on the front cover, I wouldn't have know what a Laverda was then, but most likely because it said Triumph on the front.
My new replacement copy... I found was missing the colour centre spread of the two Laverda's and the young lady..... but then I do recall the same centre spread picture adorning my bedroom wall for a bit in 1977!
Its quite noticeable how motorcycle journalism has changed over the years

You think that motorcycle journalism has changed?
They're still doing articles on Jotas.

Are you sure as a 12 year old Trimoto that you purchased the magazine with an interesting in either of the bikes on the cover, or did something else entirely catch your 12 year old testosterone infused brain? 🤣

I've been looking for that mag for years as it was the one that got me into Laverda Jotas.
I was 15 in '77 and still remember telling my friend "I'm going to get one of those one day"
Four years later I walked into Sports Motorcycles in Manchester (England) and kept my promise.
YVU 475Y... anyone ?

The problem with Laverda Jotas isn't getting into them, it's getting out.

My first knowledge of some crazy bike called a Laverda was the cover pic of a 1975 Issue of Oz mag Two Wheels. The pic was a picture of a bloke wearing a black half-face helmet riding an amazing-looking bike with a Massively finned engine fully cranked over. Never in a million years had I ever considered owning a bike like that. It was inconceivable back then. I was 17 and all I wanted was any kind of Dirtbike. I had ridden heaps of Minibikes but nothing with a Clutch or gearbox but I sure as shit wanted more of that. But it must have laid an egg in my brain as 14 years later and a couple of Bonnies later I was reading an ad in another oz mag called Revs with a Laverda for sale in Darlinghurst, also called Kings Cross, Sydneys RedLight District. I had a look, it was so neglected I just had to buy it.

Ah Vince, it is considerably less expensive to collect pictures and magazine topics of Laverda, than to own one, two, three, never enough bikes.... then none of us would be here should we be wise and collect the image of a dream. First triple Laverda went past me on main road near home, front on it was massive, going past me it was even more so, it had "the" noise... funny enough i was not aware of series 1 motors, for a lengthy time, only working on 120 motors, until the fateful day i addressed the NSW Laverda club annual meeting.... iis ignitions in hand.... there was much rejoicing in the land.... Monty P could not have put it better...j

No, I can say when I was 12 I was still more interested in the possibility of motorcycles and perhaps Tamiya!
