BEARS Australia 2023

Enjoy the trip Ted, probably come up with some exciting new developments for our Laverdas as you while away the miles😂😂
Best of luck to you and the team at the track 👍😀
Tom

Made Darwin safely, 3,450 klms
Bikes unloaded, just resting now until Wednesday morning when we will give one bike a run
Mule going out Thursday for her first run

Both bikes been around Hidden Valley that many times now we know how they will go
Decided to rest them this week

Is hot, no clouds, no rain forecast, should be a decent week

Week went to shit 1st session this morning, 2nd lap coming out of turn 5 BMW broke its chain, locked rear wheel solid
Matt at the hospital getting Scans and X-rays
Confirmed right now, one broken Collar Bone and dislocated finger
Waiting on further results

Has 4 days to recover, qualifying on Friday
Should be fine to race

Getting his race suit on and off won't be good, I cracked a Collar Bone Sking and getting out of clothes was not fun. Buggar.

It will have to be plated for him to have any chance of riding. What a bloody bummer, but not serious long term type injuries fortunately for him. Hope it can happen for you guys.

Race Stewards informed us this afternoon that he needs a medical clearance now to be allowed to race
Cannot see that happening so we are out for the week

Packing up the BMW and Laverda's tomorrow but have to stay as have a Ducati V4 with me as well and the rider flying in on Wednesday
Going to be a boring week

Means we drop Darwin round and have to do 2nd round in Sydney now
Was hoping to drop Sydney 2nd round

oh shit, I also had a broken collar bone years ago in Oschersleben, I cannot imagine to have a race 4 days later. Thats a real bullshit after you have done such a long trip. But we all know, thats racing.
Thumbs up

Points go to the rider, not the bike
Makes no sense sourcing another rider just to wear out my engines for no reward

Smarty flies in Wednesday to ride his V4, he rode the Laverda's for first 3 years but as above, makes no sense
We are out

Sorry to hear this. Particularly given the distances and costs doing this series.

Saw Chris Haldane do a National round here some years back with a broken collarbone. Had to be lifted off the bike - OW01 - post race. But he secured enough points to win the F1 title so he thought it was worth it. He'd broken it teating the Britten - when some of John's carbon fiber broke.
