BEARS Australia 2024

both my bikes are going, Veloce is already loaded in Matt's Merc Sprinter van
Our poor old 1950 Chevy only has room for one bike and crap or two bikes and no crap and race bikes need a lot of crap
Spares, race fuel, paddock stands, tyre warmers, tools, remote starter, 24 volt battery pack, paddock seats, tables, list goes on
Hence Mule was elected to travel to Warwick in the Chevy with some kit

Weather is looking to be great, hoping for a great weekend

Results sheet not looking good. Matty completed R1 on the Mule in Bears 4 and came 3rd then DNFd in the first Bears F1 race (after 4 laps) and took no further part in the weekend. I hope he's OK. No reports from the team.

Matt got punted off track turn 5 by some idiot on a V4 Ducati, broken foot and probably $7,000 worth of damage to the BM, at least
Could not put his race boots on Sunday morning so we packed up and left the track
Shit happens

Late on Saturday, it was a shock to spot Matt limping about beside his smashed up BMW S1000RR,
and more sadness the next morning, to spot all the Redax crew packing up. We wished Matt a speedy recovery.
Meanwhile,, from out in the side stalls, Ian had the #07 Formula 500 on the grid for two classes.
1- BEARS F5, combined with BEARS F3, so out the front were the Ducati 9##-rockets.
2- Period 5 251-500cc, combined with Period 6 251-500cc, so out the front were the Honda VFR400 pocket-rockets.
8 races for the meeting and Ian gridded up for 7 races. After all, on a cold Sunday morning, a hot cuppa is a much better option than a cold track.
The weather on Sunday was perfect and it was a pleasure to watch Ian's Formula keep clocking up those laps.
Well done mate. (y)

Thanks Mark for all your help as well over the weekend.. someone's gotta check the tyres and fuel.. ;)
Bloody foggy start on Saturday, but with the weather and the brilliant track conditions on Sunday who wouldn't stay the course...
Great weekend all round and we'll see yas at the next one..

Round 4 is go September 14-15 Phillip Island.
4 race bikes loaded up for the run South over the borders.
All the best for Redax team.
Matt will be working those 180 slicks that both girls are now shod with.
