Big News for your old job, Legs. About time as well.

Apart from all the politics and defence initiatives, I find submarines quite fascinating from an engineering as well as strategic point of view. I'd love to go to sea on one, but that'll never happen. I built my own 35' steel boat about 30 years ago. Maybe I should have built a personal submarine. That would have been cool.

I dunno, I went for a ride in an enclosed trailer at night, behind a car, to see what it was like ..................... scared the fu ........... (PC correct) heck out of me. I think a sub would be a bit like that.

Had a job offer 10 or so years ago to build a 1/3rd scale design model of a sub being built in Northern Germany, forget the name of the place.
Big fucken model. Was 2-3 years work. Retired from modelmaking in 2006. Just couldn't get inspired to do it.
If I was 20 years younger would have jumped on it.

What a waste of money and how much is it going to cost to pull out of the French deal and how much have we already spent on the French subs.
Happy they are going to be built in SA, we don't need to be playing with Nukes over here.
Property values have increased shit loads in my area since Covid. All the real estate had sold and any blocks that come up sell straight away.
Every fucker now wants to live here. Instead of 1 car driving past my place daily we now have 3
Pink Floyd is cool

Basing Nuke Subs at Kwinana does mean us Perthites are going to colonise you southerners. :D

If they are just nuclear powered subs then I don't know what you are worried about. In the UK they are built in Cumbria in my home town, Rolls Royce build the reactors for them. I worked on them for years by the way.
