Blimey, at this rate the "Donate" button will disappear in no time. Glad I was able to drop a donation into the piggy bank before it was filled up.

Very prescient, Cam! I've removed the Donate button because the piggy bank now has enough to cover this year's costs.

Bloody hell! I send my last post in this thread after midnight here in Oz and now at 9.30am it's already too late to make a donation!!! Well that certainly shows that there are more than enough of us to cover the costs - so no need to charge for 'classifieds'. Free is good, even if it's at the expense of those who want to contribute.

Was conscious of the time difference around the globe, but didn't want to collect more than was necessary.

Was planning on donating this morning but seems too late now. Amazed how quickly the coffers filled up.
Is there anything I can do to support the forum?

Same here ....... I checked this morning and it wasn't there ..... I check this evening and it isn't there.

Yep, I saw it this morning on the tablet, I was too rushed and figured I'd do it this arvo on a proper computer. Gone already! Good to hear it's sorted and will clearly be no problem to keep running (maybe even if picture file space creeps) well into the future - at least from the financial point of view. Nice one chaps.
 
Hi all

a couple of days ago when Rob and I discussed the present increased costs of running the forum the other day due to the change to a much better forum software platform, I offered to send Rob an initial 500 GBP myself and guaranteed to cover any other costs shortfalls myself.

Rob suggested giving the members an opportunity to voice their thoughts about running costs and various funding options first. That resulted in Rob as an experiment giving the members an opportunity to donate. I am thrilled with the member response, good on all of you. What a great bunch of people, truly. We can continue to improve, remain advertising free, and have open access for everyone. The only flaw in my plan is that you folks raised all the necessary monies for the year's expenses so quickly that I didn't get to use the "Donate" button myself.......:oops:
