Hi Maurice,I thought that engine had 120 degree phase, interesting if you look carefully the cylinders appear to be individual and equally spaced, I think the two complete prototypes are 120 degree as well were they at the Museo??
I did some research for a series of articles I wrote for our club mag Il Motorone about the development of the 1000 triple. Thanks to cooperation of Giovanni Laverda we did some interesting discoveries.
Jo,Guess you are both right Chris, you're referring to the wrong abbreviation of DOHC, Cam is referring to the other SOHC cam triple prototype which was build up in the early phase:
Even the SOHC was converted to 180 after having initially had a 120 crank. All the (belt driven) DOHC that followed were 180s.
