new workshop toy

Looks like you could use it to travel through time  :) Fantastic. Your clutch left today, should get there right in time by the looks.

Hi Red,

Any extra cooling needed around the brake?

You are running in a high ambient temp down there in Oz.

Thats all well and good but what I want to know is what colour are you going to paint it?

I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you or be killed..... :D :D

I've been trying to get over for 2 days to finish off the computer stuff but freaking work has been getting in the way!! GGGRRRRRRR

Shouldn't complain really as there's nothing scarier than work being quiet! Especially in sales  :o :o

hey red-speedy boys know youre harley mate(know youve got his old flow bench)-theyre very happy to yak with you

they are the original Slater pipes off my 79 Jota, bike bought brand new by me in 79
I knew they were true dimensions so used them for the set up
will be changed to new pipes when we rebuild the Dyno after its weld, grind and paint job

update time, getting close to stripping, welding out and painting, maybe 2 days left
2nd fan is in but have a back up plan if these 2 fans don't work well enough, MarkQLD dropped off 2 x 7 blade 3 phase fans, awesome kit
arrived slightly too late to install, major mods involved but if this set up does not work, they will be installed

damn supervisors were over this afternoon picking on my welding and our HSE adherence
failed on the HSE, whatever that is

well shit, Stuska just told me I have the load cell on the wrong side, I mounted it so it would run in compression
it is recommended to run in tension
so have to cut the back mount up again, be the 4th time

that is a real pisser

Can you just rotate the dyno brake around so the lug is at the bottom and swing the load cell horizontally on it's existing mount?

I see there's another lug on the other side of the brake. Maybe you could hang the load cell off that. Still need to make up another bracket though.

Anyway, it's only a bit of cutting and welding. Shouldnt take you more than 10 mins  :D

Cheers,
Cam

and lucky we arrived just on beer o'clock ,, only to find the shed fridge critically low of VB tinnies !!  :o
the unpredictable and random nature of 'Drikko's help' had clearly NOT been factored into the supply chain,
it was CRITICAL ,, amongst the welding flash and grinding dust, directions were immediately shouted out to the nearest pub, and a fresh slab of coldies was soon replenishing the fridge,  phew, that was close!
now LaverdaIan, we've been advising on this Dyno thing for bloody days, but Red doesn't appear to be listening to us, eh??
just welds, cuts and grinds ,, and cuts & grinds, & cuts & grinds ,,
lucky we arrived , at least the bloke has now got beer !  :D
