Mein Gott, that's a quick time, Steve! I take it you're not talking about your SFC917 beast? Wouldn't that eclipse Drmsby's best on it at the Island?
Just how 'SF1' was this bike???
Only saw this just now. No that was the preceding bike, the orange '915'. the black one was built out of many of the parts of the 915, around the CrMo frame and other lightening bits and bobs. The 915 was built around an SF1 frame, number 8-something I think. And yeah, Ken was super quick on it back before my time when Chris Cutler ran it, but it never held together for a whole meeting at the Island.
I only ran Drmsby the once at PI, and it was last minute entry with no practice, no setup info, engine on it's last legs, etc.

Drmsby ran a 49.0 in both qualy and in race 1, the latter could certainly have been quicker but for Davo Johnson on the Paton holding him up in the fast corners, that lap included fully closing the thottle on the exit of 12 to save from running into the back of him!

It was an honour to watch Drmsby learn the track in one session, I think his first ever flying lap was a 2:22, the second a 1:58 and the third a 1:53 with the bike so badly setup he was only using 4 gears.
Man that was a hoot, happy days. But yeah, we didn't match Ken's time on the standard framed bike from c.2001. Must give it another crack some day.
Back to Orange.... I used RAL2004 on an 81 Jota, it looks great but is "too orange" compared to the more original colours. Should be more washed out looking like the aforementioned GMH Lone-O-Ranger orange.
