Single bosch gen coil is "good" for 7-8 amps at best ( at some 13.8V above 3krpm ), DMC2 ignition around 3amps dependant on ignition coils installed, could be up to 6 amps.
As it stands the oem retained system runs a near zero power budget, only just manages to provide some charge to the battery. When chronically undercharged, the battery fails early, permanent failure that is. Well known this aspect over the decades. False economy running oem bosch alternator coil or coils, if nothing else you will save on worn out shoes when walking home, or the odd few hundred miles from home... HTH j
