Some Clean Speed

I know a very good shop where you could buy some nice knitting patterns Lothar,

come on, smooth road, (oh that would be bliss in UK) fair weather, very few cars, some parked to watch out for (**), some slowish bikes to watch out for, mostly done in the one gear, and the odd mistake, which can be learned from, you take the easy option if you do not see an obstruction (running wide) if it were there, you just HAVE to get down and get on with it! best to avoid it though
CLEM

(**) look at the wheels, most cars have some kind of fancy wheel as opposed to the old plain steel, plain knave plate type, and you will see those wheels long before the greater mass of the moving car.

Thanks, I am more into crocheting than knitting. Can't handle two needles at a time... :ROFLMAO:

Honestly: Knee-sliding on open roads means you have absolutely no reserve left over. if you watch the film closely (which I did), you will find several (!) time him leaning into the opposit traffic. This is brainless riding for me...

They just almost closed one of my favorite roads close by due to those egoistic, brainless riders. They monted so many barriers etc. that you can absolutely not lean into the opposite traffic anymore, as you hit lane delimiters if you try... 50 idiots per weekend over 30 years were to many it seems...

I guess, as with anything in life, there are going to be differing opinions about the antics of some riders on public roads.
I like a fast ride, so wouldn’t want to criticise others that do too, but even I wince at some of the more reckless riding I witness from time-to-time (and I m not going to claim to be totally innocent either), but short of banning bikes there always going to be the few who spoil things for everyone else. But that’s nothing new is it?

Watched this after reading the posts.

I don’t know what the fuss is about.

Bloke behind was hard under brakes when he went a bit wide. It looks worse because you can’t see ahead when you are looking from the back of the first bike.

There was nothing coming, nobody hurt, all good. It looked like fun to me and reminds me of The Old road in the good old days.

Nice bit of road…. I hope there was somewhere to get a beer when they stopped.

I think it all boils down to the fact most of us here have transitioned from riding with our hearts and now ride with our heads and have left all the macho bullshit behind. Which may explain why I'm still riding the Yellow Peril after 38 years of ownership and now well into my seventies. 😊

20-30 years ago I would almost race myself to the next corner..... these days I mostly race to the toilet.

bit harsh cam-i took it as a joke-you seem to have become more miserable as the time glides by-lighten up
Hey Paul, you seem to have become more sensitive as the time glides by mate. :)

You're quite right. As a fully paid up member of the grumpy old man club, I'm contractually obliged to take the miserable point of view.

I've met Cosi often enough to know his hide is thick enough to take a bit of good humoured prodding with a sharp stick. I don't think he's likely to collapse in a flood of tears. He's a big enough boy to stand on his own two hairy legs.

Anyway, I was just turning Cosi's own words back at him, so I wasn't being any harsher than he was, whether it was intended as a joke or not.

PS: To Forum Admin or anyone from outside Australia - don't worry. The forum isn't degenerating into a schoolyard brawl. Cosi, tinweb and I all know each other. It's just a bit of harmless banter between friends.

The riding looked a lot safer in that vid than some of those total klutzes on Harleys who run off the road simply because the bitumen goes around a corner!! Personally, I still like punting a moto along a nice road at a healthy clip. Speed and pace just need to be metered out within the context of your environment.

There is nothing better than going for a fang on my back road on the Motodd.😈 These days anything over 200 kliks life turns into a blur!!
I use to ride like those guys on the Old Road most w/e before it was totality fucked up by speed limits and filth. My luck must have been running out though, good thing I bailed from Sydney when I did
