Hey Jo, your bike looks great in blue and yes I will be taking my bike to Breganze next year. cant wait.
by the way I based my paint choice on this photo and it looks remarkably the same as yours,  ::)
exited
Tom
I can tell you a bit about that publicity bike, the bike is number *1236* and according to fairly accurate information from Giovanni Moto Laverda produced 250 drum brake triples "that had varying stages of development" !!
The strange thing about this bike if you look carefully it has a blend of the future disc brake 3C changes like the 180mm headlight.
So they may have just plucked this bike from within the last group of drummers for the publicity shot as my bike is *1232* a drum brake bike  and I know that *1238* is also a drumbrake bike (currently being restored) I guess the publicity bike was later sold onto a dealer.
I wonder if it has survived the ravages of time?????

Have same problem on my Ceriani stand Jo, but it"s worn lugs on the frame that need replacing/re welding, and engine out so doubt it will ever happen.

Shaun,

Weld an additional stop on the stand legs.  If you take care and do not overstress the lugs (ie, by draping scantilly-dressed pretty young ladies all over the bike :D), they will remain as they are and you can put off the repair until you indeed remove the engine.  In the meantime, you can enjoy a properly functioning centre stand and save yourself from suffering a hernia.

I've managed to correct a few lugs with the engine in situ, and usually mod the stands with a more substantial stop, shifting the point of contact a bit, reducing the strain on the lugs.  Fitting new bushes (or oversize bushes in some cases) and bolts, as well as keeping them tight and lubed, often works wonders. :D

Yesterday I did the first ride in 2019. At first I did not dare to pour fuel into the newly painted tank. It received
a rust conversion and interior coating (with Tapox TX-10) from the painter and I found that it was still smelling heavily
of epoxy ? even after two and a half months.

But after this time all chemical processes should have set. And yes, so far no special incidents, the 3c performed well.

In the meantime, I've also lined up the tank emblem slot head screws and replaced the green fuel lines against those
blueish ones:

Lately, I have not written much or shown photos, I've taken care of my parents a lot.

Today I looked through stuff I?d dismantled last year and found some weird DPO remains.

On the old rhs original inlet camshaft bearing block I found false mounted hollow dowels in the bore of the 9mm
stud bolt. In addition those had been pressed completely into the bearing block which blocked the oil supply for
the right inlet camshaft bearing:

From this post https://www.laverdaforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,98269.0.html I understood, that the hollow
dowels should be placed over the 8mm studs.

Thankfully, the engine hadn't had run much at takeover and so I could not find any damage when I immediately
changed to the new milled bearing blocks!

Cheers

I?ve done some work in the last days as I was far behind my original maintenance schedule in view of the forth-
coming Breganze trip.

When I installed the new cam bearings a year ago, I omitted the positioning dowels for the bearings because
I followed a wrong advice. Information was plenty available here, but unfortunately I missed it. Themselves to
blame ...

Shortly after I?d installed them I found the related information, but as the valve clearance was ok at that time
I precautionary purchased those dowels and added them to my open items list.

Now I noticed that two valves had to be set anyway, so I took the topic yesterday. Means to remove the cams,
reinstall them with dowels, measure valve clearance, remove cams again, hurry to OCT to take care of new shims
and eventually reinstall the whole caboodle again with new shims.

When the cams had been out I spotted a stamped ?M? on the upper cylinder head deck:

Does anybody know what this ?M? does stand for? Or does it just imply that Mario has completed this head
and not Luigi ?

Further I?ve installed a new DID 530 VX chain (riveted) and last but not least, fitted a new steel braided brake
line which replaced the old rubber one from the MC to the front distributor.

Tomorrow I?ll change the oil and then, yes, then only the fork is missing. Let's see if I find the time to rework it
before the planned trip ...

Cheers
Jo
