V6 model kit

Might need a separate modelling thread :D Hope it's OK to post these here, if not I'll remove them. I built this a few years ago, still have it but not currently on display as I still need to make a display case for it, so not blown up or dropped from a multistory building to see if would acually fly ;)
Wingnut Wings 1:32, Mercedes D.III engine with more than a bits of scratchbuilding...

As for me, like many, when I was young I was an avid kit builder, but haven’t undertaken any in decades. Not sure I now have the patience or hands fit enough etc to start again. I have enough difficulty working on the full size versions….☹️

Saw him this morning and he confirmed he has both the Heller and Protar kits.

Yep they sure were fizzers, we were pretty young and a few years away from our teens.
The tin was a few pounds and he was at work, nothing got said or we didn't hear about it.
 
V6 kit turned up today. Blimey, there are a gazillion tiny little parts and cables as fine as hairs. It's been about 35 years since I last assembled a plastic kit. That was a Tamiya Ducati MHR (because I have a real one in the garage), but that one was nowhere near as detailed as this V6, even though it's the same scale.

I'm going to have to get myself a pair of magnifying goggles, some fine tweezers and super-fine paint brushes. Not to mention about a dozen tins of Humbrol paint. I figure if I'm going to do it I may as well do it to the best of my ability.

The Ducati turned out OK. Here it is on my mantlepiece. Hmm, looks like the centre stand has sagged a bit. Must be due for a service.

I wear std cheapo reading glasses as everyday eyewear and a higher number (the highest available over the counter now!!) and when i want to really check out something in detail ... I simply put both pairs on! gives excellent magnification at the right distance.,

Can't wai to see your finished V6 Cam. I'm sure you'll do a top job.

Commitment point​

The thread is modeled on each part for easy assembly so that it can be fixed with bolts.
You can not apply torque, but you can assemble and disassemble in many parts without using glue in many parts.

Free comments​

Minor car models are not sold by major manufacturers, so I think that modeling by individuals and printing 3D is significant.
