Yes Tom, I still love to ride my princess. The engine is so greedy - always a big smile in my face. For sure it is not perfect for hillclimbs because of the very long first gear …Taking the Princess out for a run, well done Gert

I wondered why the anti-spill insert in the fuel filler didn't prevent spilling anymore. When I pulled it and compared it to a new one I knew... It shrunk so bad that it fits inside the new one and is hard like plastic.

Spent the day trying to work out what’s missing from the very expensive Meccano kit I’ve just rescued from Keith Nairn’s place. The most obvious thing is the very rare crank! Another box of bits has been located in the back of another owner’s van but if anyone finds they have ‘accidentally’ obtained the ‘wrong’ crank its return will be greatly appreciated. It’s still possible it’s hiding somewhere in Keith’s shed but it was nowhere to be seen near it’s last known location, or anywhere else for that matter. Even Bruce was no help...
This weekend the Bikers Classic at Spa where on our plan.
Friday we arrived in our pit box and Saturday we had a good time with warm temperatures and sticky tarmac.
When the wind turns we got smoke from nearby bushfire. The last session was cancelled.
Later that evening the program for Sunday was cancelled due to safety reasons.
But the Saturday was great. We met Gary with the Phil Todd Monty and Jotarob with his old Mercedes Van.
We had also a film crew from Korea in our box. All the SFC750 must be started! All that noise, great!
Unfortunately I am home now and write this story instead of doing my sessions at Spa.
Next week Nurburgring!

A shame so much was cancelled. It reminds me of friends recalling seeing a race in UK with Joey Dunlop. It was so foggy you barely saw half of the main straight, and Joey set a new lap record. They heard the bike, it appeared out of and disappeared back into the fog, they were stunned.
It's a bit more than a bushfire.
2700 hectares burnt 24 hours ago and still burning. Belgium's largest ever fire and a very nice part of the country and its flora and fauna going up in smoke.
Lets hope that everything doesn't go up in smoke around the Nurburgring.
We really need to review our way of life.

300 km in French Flanders on our Laverda Corinne and I with a few locals.
I took the S and Corinne took her 500 which developed a leak from the right hand end of the crank. The seal on that castellated nut. The alternator is off and the seal is ordered.

His very nice collection of bikes escaped flooding a few years back, let(s hope that they escape fire.
