What did you do to or for or with your Laverda today?

They do smoke a bit, on diesel, DAHIKT.

Think it's more a petrol/diesel mix, Quentin. It'd struggle to run on pure diesel.
It may have had one or two litres of petrol left in the tank when I filled it up, but that's about it. Engine was quite hot after a spirited ride, that must have helped. To be honest I was amazed that it kept running and got me home.

For the people who saw my post yesterday of relocating the rear turn signals and thought why…

Today felt like Christmas as a big package arrived at the door. Maybe the most difficult accessory to find for a GT was in there, a NOS set of panniers! They needed a good clean and leather treatment. After I installed it right away, I must be the happiest Laverdisti today 😄

Special thanks to Joel aka @general_piffle for helping me in my search!

And yet we read all the time how some triples foul plugs quicker than you can blink, half a second too long on choke and it is new plugs.

yep.
SFC running fantastic.
Motodd is too but on Sunday morning, 1st session, it started back firing on the over run half way through. Bloody air leak it sounded like.
finished session and back in the pits I checked the exhaust flange nuts and all were loose and unfortunately 1 missing. I forgot I had the exhaust off a couple of months ago and refitted with new crush washers. So after 3 sessions on Saturday they had worked loose being it's first ride since replacement. Should have checked them Saturday. Couldn't find a 7mm nut so just tightened the one nut up. Next session the first half dozen laps it was all good before it started back firing again. back in the pits that one nut had also disappeared and the flange was sitting on a frame rail.
The 2 half rings were also gone, then I noticed they were both sitting in the engine mount. How lucky was that!!
Couldn't be bother swapping the battery again and by this time the 750 was back on the trailer. So I packed up and headed off missing the afternoon sessions.

In the years I've been doing track days this was the first time I had an issue with the Motodd. If it hadn't been so long between refitting the exhaust and riding it I would have remembered to check the nuts knowing they would have loosen.
I'm going to mill some round brass rod into a hex and make a bunch of new nuts today.

The Jota has been running like shit so I thought I would pull the dellorto's and have a look.
These carbies have only done about 25K's as they came off the Orange SFC 1000 when I put Mikuni's on it. All in all they show very little wear but plenty of crusty dried up fuel.
😱
Its running better but not as good as it should so more to do yet. I need to look for an air leak as its poping on #3 cylinder.
I also fixed the centre stand as the bushes had flogged out so I turned up a couple of new ones.
I still need to pull the instruments off and tig up the poxy strap/bracket as one side has cracked in half. A washer and a bit of tig should sort that.
Summers is on its way so now is the time to get it sorted.

My 3C is also popping on a closed throttle as it goes down past 3k. Unlike all those kids who think popping is cool, to me it's just a poor runing bike.

What happened last time with my RGS carbs when I found the bike running lean and the right zylinder just started at higher revs was.
one plug which permanently should close the drilling of the starter jet channel came of. So there was hole of about 5 mm in the carb.
Lucky that it caused no further damage so far.
I made an new plug on my lathe and closed the hole but will watch in future.IMG_0434.jpeg
