"Have you been married long or are you naturally round shouldered ?" .
What does round shouldered mean"Have you been married long or are you naturally round shouldered ?" .
You’re right that doesn’t help hahahaWell it's the opposite of Gunner Parkins who had a lovely pair of shoulders. " Show em off boy, show so off ! "
This may not help.
PS. I’ve never been married and I have a lovely pair hahahaYou’re right that doesn’t help hahaha
Marriage was the first step towards home ownership for women. Clause 2 of the contract.Marriage is a historical contract that gave women a roof over their heads by virtue of male ownership and males gain proof of direct lineage for their offspring the contract had zilch to do with “love” - just saying! And I’m not an anti-romanticist I’m just a pragmatist.
I’m just a pragmatist.
Always read the small print in contracts. Here's one of the stories that convinced me that marriage is a bad idea.
I have a mate who fell in love with a beautiful girl and desperately wanted to marry her. They got married and lived happily ever after. Well, not quite.
After a few years they had 3 kids and the relationship had turned sour. They got divorced. Lawyers and the family court got involved and cleaned him out financially. The kids (2 boys and a girl) wanted to live with their dad but the court awarded custody to the mother. She and the kids would need somewhere to live so the court also awarded her freehold ownership of the house, while he still had to pay off the mortgage. He had to move out and and pay child support to the ex. It was a typical court ruling back in the day. The mother almost always got custody and the home unless she was an obvious raving psychopath. By the time all that legal palaver was over they hated each other's guts.
The kids pretty much immediately ignored the court order and went to live with their dad. Their mother didn't try to stop them because he was still legally obliged to pay child support to her, and that's all she really wanted. She didn't want a bunch of kids getting in the way of her social life.
He went back to court to have the child support and house mortgage payments to his ex wife stopped because the kids were now living with him (by their choice). The court denied his application because she still had legal custody until they were 18. His custody was unofficial and she had the legal right at any time get social services involved to drag the kids back to live with her. He must have had a shit lawyer to not see that coming. Apparently getting the family court to reverse a custody decision is pretty much impossible unless the mother dies (that must have been a temptation hard to resist).
He and the kids ended up living in a crap rented flat. He was driving a beat-up old ute and working all the hours he could (as a tradesman) to support them, make mortgage payments on a house he didn't own, and pay child support to his ex who was spending it on herself. Meanwhile she was living comfortably enough on the money he sent her in her free house to not need to get a job. Her cash cow dried up when the last kid turned 18, so she found another sucker and got married again.
The dumbest part of the story is that when my mate finally got out from under his financial burden, he got married to another woman and did it all again. Some people never learn.
OMG you crack me upI was ….. a pregmatist.
Pre vasectomy all I had to do was look at a woman.Bam: Pregnant
I once saw a flock of nuns walking towards me. I had to cross the street to avoid a small town scandal!
Since 12 years old I couldn’t look at my mum and grandm…..hang on even I have to draw the line somewhere!
Frankly, I should have been a sperm donor. But the world isn’t ready for too many Mini Mees.

Ouch to misplace a wife is inconvenient but to have one go missing entirely - well now that’s just down right rudeMy brother's old school sports teacher is in court right now, after having his inconvenient wife go missing 40 years ago just before having his teenage babysitter move in with him. That's going to be an interesting trial result SOON. Very odd story that one.
Bloody hell, I hear this story so often and in the end no one really wins, not even the kids who sadly do not have the opportunity to see what a lovely partnership can be.Here's one of the stories that convinced me that marriage is a bad idea.

Don’t worry girls love boy candy tooMmmmmm, postings here are varied, though you would need to be in a band with female front person, drummer or bass player. Been in long term partnerships, all fabulous, though were only an apprenticeship in prep for a female ( or more ) in a performing working band. Fear many here would be out of their league, navigation of the human element takes on dynamics that belie imagination. One enshrined notice for gigs, "Not more than one female front woman on stage, at any time, no exceptions". One clueless band leader decided to put my ( and i mean my, as in i am theirs as well ) rock and roll singer on stage with my gal pal versatile singer.... took me 3 days to calm my RnR singer down... there is a reason that most all "Dolly Bird draped on bike" is just that, one Gal.
Dont ever underestimate a female on stage centre and the outward convivial demure patina.... its a volcano ready to let go.... me drummer/singer gal, feminist at heart, understandable why. Fabulous, talent to burn, ran her ire without being remotely aware of why... to quote, " am not a sex object on stage!!" me, yes you are, why your there,.... the withering glare and volcano pending... its a stage your on, its a moment in time to entertain, its not real when you leave the stage. ( i ) Ventured we look at Burlesque outfits, there she goes, volcano lets fly ( actually lot of fun when the gals get going with emotions, large grin here ).... suggesting naked could not have been worse. Cut to some months later, gal drummer " went to a show in Sydney and the ladies wore really nice burlesque outfits" really says me, whom would have thought, what she did not hear the first time was "tasteful burlesque".
Ensuing, off we go to a famous festival around here, we are on the card, what does gal wear ( we were a trio ), a TuTu style outfit..... mob loved it as we did also sharing a stage with a gal whom not only had talent to dream of, she looked the stage centre of attention, even behind a drum kit... moral, use all you have while while you have it.... even draped over a bike, whats it matter over 30+ years.... never know why the gals take our attentions to the degree they do, just do.. and all that goes with it, not all bad and some high times can be had for surprisingly little efforts. j
Last line, not a word of it, rather, "all you need is at home", and it is, whom knows you better, the opportunistic casual or the partner of first choice in the day. Matter of knowing when good is good.... know i do or did....jFrom a recent list of children's answers after a lesson on the bible:
"The first commandment was when Eve told Adam to eat the apple."
"The seventh commandment is thou must not admit aldutery."
"Christians have only one spouse. This is called monotony."
Mmmmm that notion has perplexed and vexed me for more than 50 years, topic of much depth to the point of abyss for the unenlightened. About to rejoin RnR Rockabilly dance classes once more, standby lead partner for the new to RnR. One of the most intriguing routines is "rotate" in the dance class. Every 4-8 bars of a song the followers rotate, in a class of 40 you danced with 20 followers, a sample of lifes journey in a few songs, rarely available in usual social encounters.Don’t worry girls love boy candy too![]()
I can’t speak for many women (even my presence on this forum would have me ban from the proverbial “sisterhood” hence why there are very few women on here I would suggest) however, my only point, if I ever actually had one, is that I believe most women appreciate a “well groomed man” I suspect because it speaks to said man having “made an effort”.Mmmmm that notion has perplexed and vexed me for more than 50 years, topic of much depth to the point of abyss for the unenlightened. Having a poor recall for names, students have name tags, of course upper bodice of the gals, so i stare at the name tag quickly, then have great fun explaining am not a pervert doing male ogling, while we dance to new moves, the look from the ladies, disbelief to a big laugh, very dependent on age. The 18yo females are well guarded from grandpa male lead, my age group are well experienced in the ways of the world, and make best of the distraction ( which allows me to lead properly, this distraction technique ). Not sure any relevance, perhaps one aspect, i dress to impress even in dance classes. Rare is the gal that appreciates ( endures ) a lazy arse bloke..j Tah Nadia....
