Hey Marty, I am heading off on Monday with 3 mates on bikes and a support 4WD. Given our ages and general lack of fitness the 4WD has already been christened the Zimmer. Going up to Cape York, Savannah way and Gibb River Rd before some R n R in Broome. Perhaps our paths might cross. Hope your trip goes well. Cheers Bottler

Last minute hiccup with the starter clutch bearing seizing, which in turn fried the starter. At least it happened before I left home ..

Shoulda fixed the Sf Marty!
Starter is an easy fix from home. Not so between Sandfire and Port Hedland!

The oil draining down the front right head stud should provide plenty of oil for that bearing to prevent it giving trouble. Was there plenty of oil in there?
