This still looks like the original ignition system. Here too, the overwhelming recommendation is to replace it. It doesn't have an ignition adjustment curve, but switches to full advance ignition at a defined speed. In addition, brittle insulation of the pick-up wiring is a source of errors at this age. And let's not forget the insufficient charging capacity of the alternator. So another reason to close your eyes and pull your credit card through ...

I have an ignitech for this application four channel CDI, the original triggers were shot , Ignitech and the original triggers ( new one in this case ) should work properly.
 
Apparently a DPO was too skint to fit new rubbers and decided to add a cut up item to further compress the old, worn(?) ones to take up the play between sprocket and basket. This also seems to have distorted the cover plate... idiots know no boundaries.

A drop of Loctite keeps the bolts nicely in place, it's the 750s that have serious clearance issues to the primary cover.

I only noticed this at second glance after your comment - obviously the dpo had no clue what torsion damping was meant for ...
